School Meals
Children may stay for hot school dinners or packed lunch. The menu is available from the school office. School meals need to be paid for via credit/debit card through the Arbor app. Alternatively, cash can be brought to the office in a named envelope. If you think you are entitled to free school meals please apply for them, even if you do not intend to use them, as the number of registered Free School Meals brings in extra financial support for the school. Eligibility to free school meals also offers the following financial benefits to families:- Discounted entry to breakfast club, access to free of charge after school sports clubs and the first PE kit free of charge. Please see the office staff who can supply and help you complete an application form. Please note from 1st September 2024 the cost of ‘paid for’ school meal is £2.50.
FREE SCHOOL MEALS – HOW TO APPLY
Parents and carers can now apply for free school meals online via the Citizen Portal, using the link below. Your eligibility will be checked online, and the portal will let you know whether your child is eligible for free school meals. If your child is eligible you will receive a confirmation message, and the school will be notified directly. If you are not eligible you will be presented with a message stating this.

If your child stays for packed lunch, they will need a named lunch box with a drink that fits inside. In the interest of encouraging healthy diets, no fizzy drinks, sweets or chocolate please!

Children will receive milk free of charge up until their 5th Birthday. Parents can then buy milk direct from School Milk Services. Details of the scheme is included within the Reception Class Welcome Pack. Children from reception to year 6 who are in receipt of free school meals are now entitled to a free carton of milk per school day. If you would like your child to receive this milk please complete the free school milk permission slip and return it to the school office. Please ensure that your child will drink this milk as this initiative is funded by Coniston Primary School. Drinks may be brought to school for packed lunches but we do not allow fizzy drinks, cans or glass bottles for safety reasons. Water is available to children throughout the day.
Children may bring in fruit for a morning snack. Toast and cones of mixed fresh fruit are available at break time at a small cost.
We operate a Breakfast Club for children. This runs from 8am – 8.45am (last entry is 8.30am) serving toast, cereal and drinks, both hot and cold.
It is school policy that children should not bring sweets, chewing gum or bubble gum to school.

Breakfast Club
Breakfast is available to all children at Coniston Primary School. It is open from 8am and last entry is 8:30am. There is a charge of £2 per day per child which includes a piece of toast and a drink. Breakfast Club for free school meals children is now £1.00 per child per day (including toast and a drink). No booking necessary.
