Children may stay for hot school dinners or packed lunch. The menu is displayed in the outside notice boards and available from the school office. Money for cooked meals should be brought into school on Monday morning in a named envelope. If you think you are entitled to free school meals please apply for them, even if you do not intend to use them, as the number of registered Free School Meals brings in extra financial support for the school. Please see the office staff who can supply and help you complete an application form. Please note from 1st September 2019 the cost of ‘paid for’ school meal will be £2.30.

If your child stays for packed lunch, they will need a named lunch box with a drink that fits inside. In the interest of encouraging healthy diets, no fizzy drinks, sweets or chocolate please!
Children will receive milk free of charge up until their 5th Birthday. Parents can then buy milk direct from School Milk Services. Details of the scheme is included within the Reception Class Welcome Pack. Children from reception to year 6 who are in receipt of free school meals are now entitled to a free carton of milk per school day. If you would like your child to receive this milk please complete the free school milk permission slip and return it to the school office. Please ensure that your child will drink this milk as this initiative is funded by Coniston Primary School. Drinks may be brought to school for packed lunches but we do not allow fizzy drinks, cans or glass bottles for safety reasons. Water is available to children throughout the day.
Children may bring in fruit for a morning snack. Toast and cones of mixed fresh fruit are available at break time at a small cost.
We operate a Breakfast Club for children. This runs from 8am – 8.50am serving toast, cereal and drinks, both hot and cold. Bacon sandwiches are also offered on a Wednesday for a nominal fee.
It is school policy that children should not bring sweets, chewing gum or bubble gum to school.
