Our Approach
To enable our leaners to carry out the process of independent language learning, we will support their knowledge of key vocabulary before progressing to forming sentences.
There are three key elements to learning a language. Each of these elements help to form children’s overall understanding of the Spanish language. To be effective in Spanish, children will need to be able to use all three elements together to demonstrate fluency within the language.
Duo Lingo
With this in mind, all Spanish lessons will involve the children reading, listening and speaking. We do this through using Duo Lingo. Duo Lingo allows the children to listen attentively to spoken language and show their understanding by joining in and responding. Its emphasis on repetition and recall of words and phrases allows the children to develop accurate pronunciation and embed essential vocabulary and phrases into long term memory meaning they able to apply it to more varied scenarios.
