Admissions

We are a 210 place school, with up to 30 children admitted each year.

All admissions into the school are co-ordinated by South Gloucestershire Council. Families are always welcome to visit the school to look around and ask any questions they may have – please contact the school office to make an appointment. Further information on how to apply for a place at the school is available from the school office or visit South Gloucestershire admissions.

We make thorough preparations to ensure children arriving into our Reception Class make a successful start to their time with us. Working closely with pre-schools, we visit the children at their nursery, as well as organize a visit for them to school. This gives the children a chance to meet their class teacher and become familiar with their classroom. There will also be a meeting arranged to give parents or carers the opportunity to meet the class teacher and ask any questions they may have.

In September, a staggered start operates allowing children to become settled in smaller groups and get to know the school routines. It is expected that children will be attending full-time by the end of September. We have followed these procedures for a number of years now and have found them to be successful in producing happy, confident children who are ready and able to succeed in school.

In the event of there being no vacancies in a particular year group, parents/carers can either add their child’s name to the waiting list, or lodge an appeal through the Local Authority’s appeals process.
